    Highlight of the morning was a presentation by IVE alum Arber Ruci, who shared with the group his personal experience as a Program participant and how the Program has helped him to start his own business inyourclass.com , an innovative social networking site from and for CUNY students.

    A group of students at The City College of New York (CCNY) have developed a social networking website that its founder describes as a combination of “Craigslist and a more sociable Blackboard for CUNY students.” Called “InYourClass.com,” the site combines the features of online bulletin boards with mini social networks for 20 of the 23 colleges and professional schools in the CUNY system. A preliminary version of the site launched February 2.

    Are you looking for a roommate, a job, an internship or a scholarship? Would you be interested in exchanging textbooks and sharing news and events? Now there's a place to get that information firsthand. A group of City College students have created a social media network designed for CUNY. It is called InYourClass.com.

    In your class there are many different faces. Some of them are familiar; others one has never seen. Each semester is like a lottery. When one enters a new classroom there is hope one will see an old classmate or friend. There is also anticipation of meeting great, new people. Maybe one likes that kind of surprise, but there are certainly advantages with knowing who is in your class, before starting or signing up for the course. This is similar to students reviewing the detailed ratings of the professors in order to know what to expect.
