If you are selected, you will be awarded a 10 week summer field placement, during which you will participate in a union organizing campaign in one of several locations across the United States.
You will receive:
* A stipend of up to $4,000
* On-site housing at your location
* A week long orientation and training
* An academic scholarship of up to $5,000 for the 2011-12 school year based on successful performance.
Eligibility:
You must be a second semester college sophomore or junior during the application and interview process;
Minimum GPA: 2.5
Eligible Majors:
American Studies, Anthropology, Economics, English, Ethnic Studies, History, Labor Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Women's Studies, Spanish
Eligible Schools:
Open for 4 Year Colleges Only
Be a college student of color, including: African American, American Indian/Alaskan native, Asian Pacific Islander American, Latino American, and
Demonstrated interest in working for social and economic justice through the labor movement; and
have a drier's license.
